COUNT and COUNTA
Count numbers, or count anything at all
0 of 3 done · Lesson 3 of 18
Understand
Someone asks how many orders have been priced. Real sheets are messy: one amount says "pending" and another was never filled in. COUNT and COUNTA give different answers here, and the difference is the answer to a different question.
=COUNT(where to count numbers)
=COUNTA(where to count anything)
A worked example
=COUNT(A2:A10)
where to count numbers
This returns 9
