SUMIF

Add up only the rows that meet a condition

0 of 3 done · Lesson 6 of 18

Understand

Counting Otago orders was useful. What the regional manager actually wants is how much money came from Otago. SUMIF checks one column and adds up a different one, which is the part people get tangled in.

=SUMIF(where to check, what counts, what to add up, optional)

A worked example

=SUMIF(C2:C9, "Waikato", D2:D9)
where to checkwhat countswhat to add up

This returns 2,620
